~You Know~
(Quatrain written in couplets/mixed meter)
Being happy all the time, its inhumanly impossible to be,as by now so well you know,
Happiness is so fleeting,it just comes and then it goes,so when you have it,let it glow,
Because as you experience it in time,it doesn't remain with you and me for so long;
Our own humanity won't allow that,so try to be contented today and just stay strong.
We are always chasing after so much, of what we might be getting always for,
We're always searching for a brighter star than what we see in the sky from where we are;
Happiness slips some times away from us and then tears from our heart will just pour,
And so we smile behind a mask to hide our pain and woes,as if very happy we really were.
There's a big difference between happiness and contentment as you can check and see,
Contentment can last long if we choose to do so,but happiness cannot,no matter what we do.
Look around you,and be happy with what you have,search inside your heart and you'll see;
That you can catch the rainbows and stars you want,and make all your dreams come true.
