Thank You and Goodbye
I had to say Thank you!
for he had been so kind,
in this troubling world
kindness can be hard to find.
My tears began to flow
as the words came from my heart,
my love sincere and true
"Why do we have to part?"
My question was never answered,
our relationship at an end,
perhaps only I felt love,
to him I was just a friend.
We had to go our separate ways
although I would miss him so,
my heart was broken at that point
I cried to him, "Please don't go!"
In my heart I loved him
but there was nothing I could do,
I am thankful for such kindness
that brought my life anew.
He changed my life for the better
with open arms and care,
all the times that I'd been hurt
he was always there.
