FORGETTING WHAT'S WRITTEN


                          tunes from my heart have
been written because
of the soul-moving poetry of Richard Keith Carlton


                          tunes of my heart have been sad
when the bad comes out from no where
and he doesn't want to share.


                          tunes of my heart have been happy
when the blend
of his art is so smart.


                          tunes of my heart have been
living when the devil wants me to go down
instead I stop at this poetry---forget that he's around.


                          tunes of my heart have been dumb
when the bum in me wants to perhaps end it
instead I send it all away...


I listen to I AM A BROKEN VESSEL, and realize it's all okay...
