You were a diamond
Some kind of rare emerald
I could tell reading your poetry, seeing you now and back then looking at your picture
Just so curious of life and its structure
Hear this
Try that and this
Like a cat
You had to, then you lost all in your hat
Your friends were a bad influence i know
I know
They ran after you took the final fall and they never looked back
You went through that patch that awkward time and then you decided its time to unpack
You learned now
And you learned how
You learned by not knowing then what you know now
You stood in the rough
Looking on the outside so tough
On the outside i looked into what you said and your ambition and enthusiasm and could see this diamond coming out of the rough
Now i see you again after so long and i knew i was so right about you, there was something special something tough
Just a diamond in the rough
Your simply a diamond
An emerald
A good person who is a good laugh and a little crazy
Except thats ok
You have fun
The past is done
Now you know
And you learned how
