Looking back on all your Golden years
There must have been smiles and tears
For they say that true love never runs smooth
As no doubt your trials and tribulations prove.
You made your vows so many years ago
But the time has flown for you, I know,
The children came, my! How fast they grew
They`ve gone now leaving just you two.
There were hard times but you came through
Standing firmly together as lovers do,
Each obstacle was a test of your love
But God sent you his blessings from above.
You are a couple people are proud to know
And love for you in their hearts does grow,
You`re always cheery and manage a smile
You make their time spent with you worthwhile.
Sometimes I think you drew the short straw
But you don`t want sympathy that`s for sure,
You accept the cards that you have been dealt
You`re the type of people that make hearts melt.
These few words are written from me
To wish you a Happy Golden Anniversary
I give a toast to the nicest couple I know
For health, happiness which others will echo.
