Confessing Deep Down
Have pity on me O Lord,
In keeping with your mercy
Because I have not ignored;
Of all that I hear and see.
Please show love and compassion,
To wipe out rebellious acts;
Wash me of my transgression,
That iniquity attracts.
Cleanse me of all of my sin,
That has been plaguing me long;
So the agony within,
From all I have done so wrong.
For I have been a rebel,
My sin is always in front;
And I have been too willful,
With my arrogance too blunt.
I have sinned against my God,
And to all of those around;
When I should honor and laud,
I was nowhere to be found.
So hand me down the justice,
On the judgment of my worth;
For I could be infectious,
And could infect the whole earth.
