Ethereal Moments The Poetry of Donavon Scott Vinson
Glory of War's Cause
The men in the blue uniform march on with
glory,honor,pride and noble sacrifice,
pain,suffering and terrible horror,
unimaginable hardship for a just cause.
Never shying away from the bullets flying or
the shells bursting violently overhead,despite
soldiers dying and flesh being horribly shredded and
uniforms torn still they march onward to battle,
with their colorful flags flying high they stand
hip to hip in formation knowing the long odds they
coolly face the death and destruction of this desperate,bloody battle.
With heroic deeds yet to be done in the face of a determined and
stoic enemy,and despite the personal cost of life and limb,
they gallantly fight on for the love,care and concern for
their fellow man,shedding tears of courage for the noble cause.
They show compassion and seek justice for their brothers in bondage
no matter what others might say for they are warriors determined
to set other men free from the humiliation and oppression of slavery.
