ADVERSITY OF VANITY

I need. I need what.
This and that
When I get what I need
Will I be content with my lot?

No, I'll still need.
What is it you need?
How do I know? I just want
When I have it I'll be content.
Perhaps, well maybe.

Why have I gotten to this state of wretchedness?
Needing, always wanting and never content
He has, she has, and they have.
What, don’t know.
just want more.

More style, more homes
More men and women
need it all. Whatever all implies
Having it all and being content.

Now there lies the crux of vanity.
this state of adversity created,
Because I want it all.

Those people who have nothing
perceived as having more than I do
And they have; love, contentment, and compassion,
Honor in their souls.

That is what I truly need
But do I want it? No!
Why not?
Because I would have to do without all my possessions.
