 No Guarantees
Black or white, rich or poor;
There are no guarantees
When we walk through life's door.
Reality is where the dance floor is;
There are no guarantees
When you take it's pop quiz.
Blessing or cursing, happy or sad;
There are no guarantees
What will be good, what will be bad.
Absorb every drop of positive mojo;
There are no guarantees
To this great big picture show.
On this stage, in our passion play;
There are no guarantees
Whose role we will portray.
Soon we realize that life ain't fair;
There are no guarantees
Or easy answers to the questionnaire.
On that day when your number is up;
There are now guarantees,
Not being poured into a measuring cup.
My advices is to love with your whole heart;
Thank goodness for guarantees,
So embrace life, simply do your part.
