The Peace Sought For
Today the strains become more evident
The heart dormant awakes in torment
Seeking refuge if just her scent
To bring an end to our lament
It feels almost we cannot breathe
Without the one we seek and need
To calm these storms that dwell within
Inside our soul again begin
The need to lay if next to her
Touching the face that in me stirs
My greatest gain in life today
My source of breath she takes away
This one like many we've penned for one
Who makes us feel more than someone
That struck it rich but poor I feel
Alone, distance and time does steal
Frustration sets it's mark on me
The need to be with her you see
Is all we ask of One today
To make things right, today I pray
Give me strength to sail the seas
Of bliss before the waves of agony
Steal the joys we've come to know
Heartfelt upon your son bestowed
