WHEN YOU WERE A YOUNG GIRL

WHEN YOU WERE A YOUNG GIRL

Hi there, I remember when you
Was a girl, going your own winsome
Ways, little did we know the many trails
The many tales you would one day tell.
About lands you visited, wondrous sights

The many glorious, delight filled nights
Fond memories stored lovingly within,
Your heart, wanderings finished change
Has arrived Grandchildren around you,
And the tales you tell enchant them all.
Many sights mysteriously conjured to
Delight and cause fright.

One day in future times they shall sit
After youth is over they will recount
About many trails, and many tales
They ventured along. And you knowing
All those trails lead back to where you started.

You're roving over, you sit contented that
Winsome smile dancing, in your eyes.
And I, remembering, when you were a girl
Know why I always loved you. Gerry.
