I could have given you gold, Instead I refined you through fire Restored your soul, I could have given you All the riches of this world, Instead I gave you wisdom, Above and beyond To preserve to guide you All your days on earth, I could have answered all your prayers Instead I blessed you even in the unanswered! Silver, Gold, Treasures of this world Are only for a time, My love for you is everlasting Never ending! This you can be assured I could have given you the world, On a silver platter! Instead I chose to lay my life on a tree, In your place there I was nailed, My infinite love for you for all to witness to see, So you could have even when you fail life eternal And to never again be separated from me.
