Poetry that thinks out loud

DRAG US TO LIGHT

She took her first step in this dark alleyway;
She took the wrong route as she became prey.
A man in the darkness had caught her in sight
And he was to pounce when the moment was right.

She trembled inside as she knew he was there,
What could she do? But now face the despair.
He pounced and then pulled her to the ground
The night remained silent with no one around.

She had lost her voice from the shock and the fear
The man was a monster and he stunk of beer.
His intensions were evil he had caught his prey
And she was his target as she walked his way.

But there in the darkness a hero was stood
A man of great power, but miss- understood.
The lady looked on as this shadow appeared
And knew she was saved from what she most feared.

The hero was muscular, but not very tall
Dressed up in drag he was wearing it all.
The lady was more shocked, what was going on?
A drag vigilante? But her fear now gone.

Off came his high heels to hit this bad man
Then from his back strap came a frying pan.
With a whack and a smack the attacker was down
And this paved the way for a much safer town.

He helped up the lady and told her his tale;
That he was a man, but inside was a gal.
With the strength of a man, but the look of a lady
He would bring light to the streets that were shady.
