Reverence be to Rudra, the Lord of the Eternal Time!
O Rudra, Thou hurl the wicked ones unto the hell, but
Listen to our prayers and be to us ever compassionate!
Do not ever frighten us with Thy thunder bolt or fire,
Do not ever frighten our progeny or us! O Lord of life,
May not even a single one among us be destroyed or
Diseased; Be gracious to grant us happy divine life!

O Siva, with Thy auspicious form of Consciousness
Dwell in the hearts of Thy devotees to destroy darkness!
Do Thou destroy diseases, poverty and our miseries!
Obeisance unto Thee, O Siva, grant us true knowledge!
O Thou, Rudra, destroyer of sins, grant us long life!
Whatever freedom Thou hast granted us is all Thy grace
Grant us happiness in this world as also in the next!
Don't destroy our elders, neither children, nor adults,
Don't destroy our parents, and these our lovely bodies!

Obeisance! Obeisance! Obeisance unto Thee,
O Siva, may we be freed from the bondage of death
Even as a fragrant ripe cucumber from its stalk
And not be deprived of immortality in any case!
O Lord, Thou art in the form of pure consciousness
Existeth in the fire, air, water and all over in the universe.
Thou art all-pervading Supreme light; O Lord of Creation,
Be pleased to grant us blissful life and final liberation!
