MOUNTAIN OF TEARS

~^~ MOUNTAIN OF TEARS ~^~

Sitting here alone on my mountain of tears
These are what I`ve shed over the years,
They serve as a stark reminder to me
That life has been anything but easy.

Just look and see the tears that I`ve cried
Over the years they have solidified,
A mountain of tears that poured from my heart
Each drop an emotion that tore me apart.

How many tears do you think there could be
One million, two million or even maybe three,
However many, each represents such sorrow
A reminder of pain that leaves me feeling hollow.

If I had a penny for every tear that I`d shed
I`d be a self-made millionaire it has to be said,
Or even a happy moment for every tear cried
I would be so ecstatic that it couldn`t be denied.

But neither of these are so, all I have is pain
Pain that I seem to re-live over and over again,
My mind won`t let me be free it knows no rest
It fills my head with thoughts that I really detest.

How much bigger can this mountain of tears grow
For my heart is still in pain and my tears still flow,
I`ll probably always cry `til the day that I die
By then the mountain of tears will be very high.
