VELVET TONES
With luxurious depth, his voice played upon my skin,
Titivating my senses, arousing awareness far within.
A baritone saviour, saving me from the heat,
A place where I go to hide, salvations common street.
His words could be senseless, or a language I could not speak,
Yet tumultuous outpourings, a lonely soul would seek.
Rest upon me, oh voice within me, let light into my dark,
Show shadows of a life yet to come, a brighter path to embark.
Far away and yet so near to touch, my visions finest hour,
Within my reach a river runs, a wealth of words to devour.
