 My Anchor

My anchor of faith is built on the Bible
God's written word, true and reliable
From Genesis through Revelation
All given by Holy Spirit inspiration

It reveals God's plan for all humanity
Jesus became a man, but still as Deity
Living on this earth, He can fully relate
To all suffering we endure at any rate

God is holy, but my sin created a barrier
Bridging that gap, He became my Savior
Dying once, paid the price for all my sin
Then rose again, victory over Satan to win

As our example, He showed us the way
For mankind to go to heaven someday
Through my personal faith in Him alone
All my sins are forgiven, freely atoned

Light for my path and lamp for my feet
My armor and shield, Satan to defeat
Holy Spirit reveals truth, He is my guide
Eternally secure, He never leaves my side

Knowing Jesus is a relationship and journey
Step by step, He is preparing me for eternity
Proverbs and Psalms give wisdom and peace
I need all of His Word, to be in Him complete

The New Testament is a fulfillment of the Old
By Holy Spirit intervention exactly as foretold
Other prophecies will come to pass in the future
When Jesus returns again, according to Scripture

If I followed any other religious book of philosophy
I would be saying the Bible is not my final authority
Nothing can compare to the Truth I find in its pages
Applicable for my life today as throughout the ages

Psalm 119:105 (NIV)
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light
for my path.

Ephesians 6:11 (NIV)
Put on the full armor of God so that you can
take your stand against the devil's schemes.

2 Peter 1:20-21 (NIV)
Above all, you must understand that no prophecy
of Scripture came about by the prophet's own
interpretation. 21 For prophecy never had its
origin in the will of man, but men spoke from
God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.
