At First Glance
I remember when I saw you
it was an awkward glance,
our eyes met in silence
and my thoughts did a dance.
You were sitting with another
and the moment was sweet,
not a single word was said
but the feeling was neat.
With my cheeks hot and red
I was floating on a cloud,
I knew you were taken
and my feelings weren't allowed.
I hurried out of the room
not knowing what to say,
I was afraid to let my heart
guide me in that way.
I struggled in my mind
and didn't know what to do,
I felt like I knew you well
from the minute I saw you.
My emotions were a mess
and I left with true regret,
with fear I hid inside myself
from the moment we first met.
