 Golden
Born on this day fifty years in the past;
Through tenacity your breath does last.
Shining on the world with a new inner light;
Dealing with a pen, poetry you do write.
Looking back now to the days now olden;
Happy birthday, Deb, you are now golden.
Your poetry leads you into tomorrow;
Friends and family help with the sorrow.
Always rebounding from the cards dealt;
With her kind words, hard hearts melt.
For her friendship I will always beholden;
Happy birthday, Deb, you are now golden.
Smile and laugh, know that you are still young;
There are still many songs that need to be sung.
Walk gentle into your future, walk with peace;
From your spirit, let your emotions release.
Your courage and your strength embolden;
Happy birthday, Deb, you are now golden.
