What is the new craze that has taken over the country
It is the one now generated by the cellphone the blackberry
Young and old, rich or poor wherever u go it is around
You will see them actively with one using their fingers and thumb.
Now when those younger folks get into the omnibus
Earphones engaged, they sit and all else is quite oblivious
Volume is such, that off and on you can hear the sound, the peals
Of music, blasting in the background, those decibels
Take a look at a person in a car with the family
The driver is focus, but all the other each has a blackberry
So they are there locked on to them, and there is silence
Would convey the impression that they are at a grievance.
A couple sitting in the shade of the evening sun
Watching the colour of the sun light, as it is obscurred by the horizon
Both adjacent and on their blackberries, using the opportunity
Smiling as they text something to each other romatically.
Sometimes ago i was walking home on the road
Planning my day and thinking about my pending work load
A lady was approaching, eyes fixed on her blackberry
If i did not swerve, she would have collided with me.
