Women's Ascent
It has always been an informed, heated and yet stimulating discussion
As one traces the progress of and the ascension of women
The statistics portray that women of all colour, class and creed
Have in all areas the menfolk of their races exceeded.
Many of them, said even though they are making some strides
There are still in place some barriers that latently reside
Even though they at getting an bit closer to the top
They are still being confronted by some stumbling blocks
As some men are not now seeing themselves as the patriach
Therefore they feel very humiliated and that is afact
Ego shattered, taking it hard that the situation moreso
Inflicted such a psychological blow, that is affected their prized labidos.
In this era of equal education, rights and work opportunity
Why should men now think that their places are a matter of formaility
Believing that they still have that hierchical position
To be the one who will make the decisions, in all conditions
This ascent has also put some women in a sort of difficulty
Especially when thye are looking for a partner of academic equality
Because they cannot endure the society's and friends' frowns
Who behind their back may say, that they have married down.
Women be aware it may not always be men at then top of the system
Who may be the ones who are the hindrance to your progression
Perhaps it may be an alliance between maginalised men and your own gender
Who are the one, that are putting your upward mobility in danger.
