Thankful Hearts
Thanksgiving Day draws near
Bringing our thoughts to peace.
Our wishes, dreams, and wants,
If even for a season, do cease.
Bowing our heads and our ego;
Opening our hearts to blessing.
On Thursday we sit at the table;
Enjoying turkey and dressing.
Problems, trials, and tribulations;
All take on a new point of view.
Gentle thoughts extend into life;
Creating within a peace so new.
Stillness in our souls bring joy;
Gathering with family and friends.
Sweet is this season of gratitude;
With thankful hearts we transcend.
