life lessons?

motorbiking afternoon

i put on my comfy jeans and a good thick top and then my boots and lid,
put the key in the ignition turn it on and fill it up a full tank for fifteen quid.

start it up and into first clutch out revs back and away it gently flies,
which way to go on this trip out what waits for us what testing surprise.

the traffic's flowing to the left so that's the way we'll go on our way today,
let lady luck guide us on our mystery journey and let come what may.

the traffic's flowing freely the speed's up to fourty-five we're cruising along,
mp3 is playing one of my favourite tunes a perfect motorbiking song.

fingers and toes are tapping now the melody has got a hold i'm grooving,
the revs are going back the speed is increasing we are really moving.

the traffic slows we're twenty now time to look around and to have a break,
a lay by sign two hundred yards indicate turn in half an hour you should take.

a drink of coke a breakfast bar a smoke and walk and then get back on,
don your gear all done up correctly start it up and then let's get gone.

traffic's flowing right so that's the way that this leg will begin away we go,
the police have closed a lane off so the going here is very slow.

flowing freely very soon and building up to ninety steady and fast,
the horrified old faces that stare out and raise fists when you go past.

the afternoon is gone time to turn around and head for home time has run out,
you've had a very good outing today and of that there can be no doubt.

the journey back is quicker you take the direct route on the way home,
you reach journeys end returned again now just time to polish the chrome.
