They call it learnt behaviour for a reason!
And that reason is apparent to me!
It passes through families through the ages,
And it's not always something you can see!
They hide it well so no-one can see,
The real person that's not on show!
The outer is just a falsehood…
That only the one's in the situation can know!
They seem so nice, so pleasant,
And they really seem to be so kind,
But the monster lurks beneath the exterior,
Deep down inside is evil that we find!
Evilness is hidden from the outside world,
The blackest heart there ever can be,
Buried so deep, that no-one could tell,
Hidden so no-one will ever see!
But sometimes that monster lurks,
And it boils over without restraint, let go!
Blackness spews forth omitting from them,
But only the one's it concerns can ever know!
Skeletons in the cupboard true,
Locked away deep down inside,
And the victim lives in terror and fear,
They can't run, and they can't hide!
And when that monster is no more!
The pain and fear doesn't ever go!
For it's there forever and always,
As only the victim can ever know!
And the child, oh the child, she with red hair,
Will never be able to let it go!
For its there inside, deep inside,
As only she can ever truly know!
But the abuse of her brought her strength!
And will always be locked away!
Never to continue learnt behaviour!
Because bright colours came to stay!
Learnt behaviour is no more!
It doesn't rule her life,
But more, she is a loving mother,
And a loyal and loving wife!
She made learnt behaviour a think of the past,
Finally, and utterly free, at last!
