He gave us life…a miracle,
And a world vast and large to live in,
And all there seems to be…
Is that we are all surrounded in sin!
We fly in the face of God…
We throw back the good to Him,
Rather than stay on the right path,
Because in hate we can never win!
But He gave without asking much in return,
Not many conditions did he enforce…
Rather He hoped that we use it to the good,
And walk the path, the good one of course!
But we slip and slide and waver,
And cause pain throughout the land,
I don't think for one moment,
This is at all what God planned!
All he asked was to live a good life,
And do the very best we can do,
Help not hurt - love not hate…
And let the goodness shine in me and you!
But alas things are never as they seem,
And nothing at all rings true,
For the hate throughout the world over,
Is no good for me and you!
He gives, we take, but what do we give?
Did we try our best today?
Or did we accept and not try to return,
The goodness He wants each day!
No, I guess we let Him down,
And caused him a sadness within,
We took His all, we let Him down,
But it's never to late to begin!
Never too late to start anew,
And return to the path good and true,
At least we could try, make an effort,
To give the very best of me and you!
Yes we should try our very best…
To stay on the side of right,
Not err to the path of darkness,
Then we can sleep easy every night.
A clear conscience is a state of mind,
That causes well-being and goodness within,
And that is when we can sleep soundly at night,
Knowing that day – goodness did win!
