When we think of what Jesus went through,
As He walked the walk of pain…!
Do you see what really came to pass?
And the torture over and over again!
He walked the walk of pain and fear,
Knowing He could make it end-
Just by asking God above,
For painless peace to become a friend!
But He didn't, no, not at all!
For He knew the reasons why…!
That this path was the one He'd walk,
He knew He had to take the pain, and die!
He did it for all mankind!
Hoping for peace throughout the earth,
Knowing the suffering that was to come,
Would be for the people, for their worth!
He suffered so very badly!
And was punished with humiliation and shame!
And those who brought all this about,
He forgave them again and again!
For He knew the path He walked,
Was deemed by His Father, God above,
And so He took all that was given to Him,
He did if for God, with faith and love!
And though He knew what was to pass,
He didn't know how bad it would be!
And bad it was, horrendously so!
And it so hurts the heart of me!
For in my head I have such visions,
Of the pain and torment of He,
The walk He walked on the road of pain,
There it was only pain He could see!
Why did they do it? Hurt Him!
What was it that they would gain?
They were in fear of their own wickedness!
Determined to hide ‘their' shame!
They were supposed to be ‘Holy Men!'
And hold compassion in their heart!
But all they held - was evil,
And hatred and vile they did impart!!
And as the time was upon Him,
He forgave those who hurt His heart,
And He knew with all certainty;
He was soon to be released and depart!
But how can people not remember?
What He went through for us all!
Can't they bring to mind the visions?
Of the pain bearing the cross and the fall!
Look to your heart today!
And remember what came to pass,
The pain and torture of this Man, Jesus,
Who finally found release at last!
And He now resides in Heaven,
At the right hand of his Father most high,
He's remembered for all He did,
The Passions of Christ that made many a heart cry!
