Poetic Verses
Being Used
A toddler standing crying, tugging at your knees
Arms uplifted, you then looked at a its tearful pleas
You lift it up,then it began to smile and instead
Reached for an object, hanging above your head.
Then you too smile as you came to the realization
That through you the toddler, has found that medium
So that it could get the required elevation
To reach the object of its intended affection.
This then bring some warmth and joy to the heart
As in your thoughts, concluded that the child is smart
Since it could not reach, but used its intellect
To achieve that objective, with such a great effect.
Another situation, a lady whom all the other guys is after
Somehow gives that indication, that its your company she prefer
Perhaps your manner, is not like those puerile manifestation
Or maybe trying to see why you are not swooning over her attraction.
After a while a friendship develop which was quite amicable
You establish grounds, so that all encounters were only sociable
Through you, she was able to make contact with many persons
And so was riding on the coat-tail of your reputation.
Then as in that circle she was able to attain some strength
You then notice that your friendship, seems to be in the trench
In now dawns on you, that you were that means to that ends
Only the springboard to get to that point where she intends.
This time as with the child you were not amused
It is because you were well and truly used
Not that you were expecting anything in return
But it is not a good feeling, when one is spurned
