New Year PrayerDear Lord, My hands no nail prints bear, Yet they're yours to deliver care, Your mercy is beyond belief, Use my hands to bring hope, relief. The torture of Calvary's nails; Your love ne'r wavers, never fails. O Lord, my hands are small and week, Lord, use my hands as though you speak. My Lord, your lips with anguish parched, Still spoke words of comfort and hope. May my lips likewise bring your word; Wisdom that guides, hope of the Lord. Calvary's wrench, it did not move Your focus from love's sacrifice. May that great love my days direct, My lips declare your faithfulness. Lord Jesus, your eyes blurred with tears, With compassion viewed angry hoard, You did not curse those who laughed, jeered, Nor the soldiers who your side speared, Open my eyes that I too might see, Move my vision away from me, Lord, reveal to me other's needs, Spirit, empower my loving deeds. Lord, many voices cursed your name, Their distraction went on and on, Yet above that background noise, You heard a sinner's feeble voice. Lord of heaven, make my deaf ears, Sensitive to a sinner's heart plea, Point them with respect to Calvary, Source of joy for eternity. Jesus you served God your Father, Who acclaimed you with heaven's voice, May my earthly master always see, Your love and faithfulness in me.
