 119. Lament for MJ
Beloved,
I held you
& you went stiff
In my arms
I held you
To see your
Eyes,
& found walls
Looks that went
Away,
& I wondered
What happened
To the happy
& confident
Woman
I once knew
You
To be.

Beloved,
What happened?
All I can
Do is
Release you
From my
Embrace
Because your
Private torment
Is the wall
Now keeping
You,
& that you
Believe
Safety
Equated
To
Happiness.

So I let
You
Go.

I hope
For my
Friend
To Someday
Return
From the tower
Of her interior
Castle.
