Poetry that thinks out loud

IF WE SHALL RISE

If we shall rise to heights above
We need to learn to share the love
And if we wish to win the league
There will be times we feel fatigue.

The passions high the passions strong
There will be times it all goes wrong,
But if we learn to get along
Then CHAMPIONS will be our song.

Sometimes our all is not enough,
But not all games will be this tough.
And on those games we should have won:
We could say that on every one.

The last six minutes we let go
Players were tired, very slow,
But every player gave their all
And still we could not stop the fall.

Mistakes are there for us to learn
And still the league is our concern.
So long as we keep moving up,
Who really cares about the cup?
