The Happiness of the Godly
Bless the man, who does not,
Ignore what he was taught;
Staying away from those,
Who would be causing woes.
Never follow advice,
By one who would entice;
To take the path of sin,
That would corrupt within.
Stay away from mockers,
As well as street walkers;
For their fun and delight,
Is darkness in the night.
Delight in the teaching,
And the Sunday preaching;
That your ears has had heard,
Which comes out from the Word.
For the fruit that you reap,
From the harvest you keep;
Will last you through winter,
That cold cannot hinder.
For all that he will do,
God will be helping through;
With more than enough seed,
To see that he does succeed.
