LIKE DESTINY'S CHILD
LIKE DESTINY'S CHILD
Mid-Summer
Thick with gray clouds
Thus hung heavy
Days remembered.
Thoughts
Thus shadowed
Are but bye-gone
In thy longing.
My mind flickers
Like the
Bye-gone era of
Silent films.
How I linger on
Contemplating
And wasting days away
By this
Tranquil pond.
There I go
Casting stones
Into thy
Mirrored reflection
Like
Destiny's Child.
Will I see?
My desires come true?
Or their weight
Weigh heavy
And plunge
To the bottom.
I witnessed
Thy stones
To thee unknown
Drowning pool
The summer shower
Matched for match
Thy tears
Running down
My face.
My memories
Are relived
One after the other
I beg thee
Carry thy sad thoughts
On summer winds.
I will not
Wrestle with you
But leave thy soul
For how would you rest?
With thy head upon
A sorrowful pillow.
I have stood
Anchored against
Storms raging of fate
Yet I survived
Tempest's
fury.
My heart and soul
Soared toward the sun
Its warmth
Gave chase
To gray clouds.
I did but
Walked alone
With pride and contentment
In thy soul
Never the less
Like
Destiny's Child.
