There is so much
Light sometimes
That the shadows
Seem darker
Than usual.
Nothing is
Insurmountable.
I know I am loved.
I know I am worthy.
Those things
I know in my

But it is my heart
That feels tight
& constrained.

Into submission.
I call upon Prayers.
I recite the Mantras.
Dancing with the Devil
Wrestling with the Shadows
Fighting some part
Of myself
To feel differently
Than it does.
What is the answer
Beloved?
Derail the train.

They call it
A rut
For a reason.
Laugh,
Because it's
Better than crying,

Your body can't
Tell the difference
Anyways.
Give a hug
Because then
You get one
Too.
Smile at someone
Who's having
A bad day
Because everyone
Is struggling
With the shadows
And lightening
Another's load
With simple
Kindness
Will always
Make our own
A little less
Because a smile
Shared
Brightens both
Your day
& theirs.
