Valentine's Luck
Who could believe that in the Valentine season
That no matter how I tried with such a passion
Going all out, even to the very last hours
That I was not able to purchase a bouquet of roses, or flowers.
So i decided that nothing will most certainly this time
Prevent me from getting the chance to buy a bottle of wine
So even though that was foremost in my mind
I somehow seemed to be the one last in the line.
So my focus was shifted to purchase a box of chocolate
This one i know she will appreciate, as it is her favorite
But even though i made lots of stops, at those retailers
There was none to found on their shelves.
Having now lose out on all of the former
The last resort was to make plans for dinner
But all those places, called to make that reservation
The response was, that they were all booked for the occasion.
This situation I certainly could not comprehend
Why at this time i was presented with this problem
Having lost out on all the things associated with Valentine
This to me was not a very good sign.
So all i could do was to sit and wonder
What could i do to make the situation better.
But it seems that had of fate, dealt me so luck
There was a flower growing by the highway, and that i pluck.
