 The Poetry of David Hart

Flames of Fandango by Dave Hart

So you wanna take that up
Up there in that
Hum-drum space of yours
That space for fare-wells
and residence of waste?
You thought your were confused
But, now you're in the race
Star-humped astride in
Clamor of thudding special
In your central space.
Now you know who you are and
Somehow it ain't easy.
Out, out you brief candle.
Execute the sliced swift steps
And flourish your great
Flourishing cloak
Turn your head from the
Abominable farewells to
The darkness of your
Unreconciled heart.
Quest now for the
Rapture of times adorned
In all the 'Look at Me's
In all the 'See me Please's
Quests for pleasure intense
And brief.
Quest no more, you've arrived
At the Waldorf, but
The bed is filled with
Soon unwanted friends.
