 When the heart cries...

A Promise of Love

What can I give in fair exchange,
For a heart and a soul so true?
And what can I pledge to measure
The sweetness of love so divine?

To look at the moon and the stars
In all their glorious splendour
And still preserve the best in me
For you, the one I truly love

To feel the rhythm of the skies
Flowing freely in every nerve
And not be moved to stay away
From you, the one I truly love

To write your name in every thought
And in every composition made
The finest words and images alone
For you, the one I truly love

To breathe the sweetness of love
From places nearest to your heart
To live and die in such proximity
Of you, the one I truly love

To dream and spell eternity
To draw and paint forever
Embraced, entwined in every way
With you, the one I truly love
