I write these
Little love notes
To you
Almost everyday,
Beloved…
And you are
Whether you
Agree
To the title
Or not.
Somehow
We are connected
Because my struggles
Are yours
And I pluck
The words
Out of the air
To describe
The feelings
You are grappling
With in some
Silent battle
Of interior titans.

We are strong

Our own dark
Thoughts,
Resisting the dark side
Of our nature
Realizing,
This doesn't have
To be
Who we are.
Other days
The darkness wins
And we act
Like the ones
We collectively
Wish would
Go take a long walk
Off a short pier.
Fortunately
We take turns
And cheer each
Other on
On those
Off days.
So thank you
