'' That Filthy Lying Cheat ''
When you met the one you loved,
you knew it right away,
your heart pounded your head did swirl,
with you they would always stay.
As the love inside grew stronger,
that torch for them you carried,
decided for you that now was the time,
that both of you got married.
The love you felt intensified,
when you set up home together,
you thought you could handle anything,
like a shelter in stormy weather.
Then when you both had children,
you thought your life was bliss,
a partner and kids, a beautiful home,
there was nothing could go amiss.
Gradually you noticed subtle changes,
nights together then soon became few,
they'd be smelling of perfume or aftershave,
your relationship was going askew.
That's when you noticed the love of your life,
was acting in a very strange way,
the one who once told you everything,
suddenly had nothing to say.
They'd start dressing up when they went out,
the excuses then started to flow,
they'd get angry when asked, ''where are you going''
they'd reply, ‘'you don't need to know''.
All those things you did as a family,
no longer happened the same as before,
they'd spend more time away from you,
loving you became more like a chore.
The warning signs are there to be seen,
but we tend to think, is it me,
while they're out and about, playing around,
we refuse to admit what we see.
Before you know it you find out the truth,
usually from family or friends,
your partner is seeing someone else,
that trust you had suddenly ends.
Now's not the time to forgive and forget,
always think of the way you've been treated,
walk away with your head held high,
show them that you won't be defeated.
Get on with your life without them,
they have only given you stress,
get on that road to recovery,
it's they who'll be left with the mess.
Cheats show no respect for gender or age,
it's a weakness of their very soul,
it's never their fault is their war cry,
their feelings they just can't control.
Fact is they don't want to control them,
they allow themselves to be led,
it's an unforgivable betrayal of trust,
all for their lust to be fed.
Adultery is truly a cowards way out,
that's why on you they'll apportion blame,
attack is their only form of defence,
they use it to cover up their shame.
You must never forget you have done nothing wrong,
get out there and show off your face,
by being your normal happy self,
you will soon be back in life's race.
If you feel the need to retaliate,
the best way's for you to move on,
this will show you are better than them,
you'll no longer care they have gone.
Revenge is perceived as an expression of pain,
it can also show you are weak,
don't let the cheat know you're hurting,
then soon you'll be back in the clique.
Never get angry because they have left,
you will soon gain back all of your pride,
you can live life with your dignity intact,
for them there'll be nowhere to hide.
When they look back at what they've done,
it will truly make them wince,
they have given up a beautiful steak,
for a piece of rancid mince.
One day they'll try to apologise,
your anger they'll think they can quell,
be strong and look them in the eye,
then tell them , ‘' You Can Rot In Hell''.
When you look back you'll be happy,
at your wonderful achievement,
as you've moved on to greater heights,
their life becomes like a bereavement.
When you're finally back in the groove,
It will truly be your greatest feat,
everyone will know you're much better than,
