Between Life and Death
God offers you good life and wealth,
Or death along with destruction;
You can have glory and good health,
By following His instruction.
This is what the Lord does command,
Love the Lord God with all your heart;
As well as that He does demand,
Obey His rules that you impart.
Then your life you shall surely live,
Being fruitful and multiply;
Because your past He will forgive,
And have all in ample supply.
The Lord will bless you in the land,
If you just trust and you obey;
Assured fertile not sinking sand,
If you no longer go astray.
But if you go take a detour,
And you turn away from the Lord;
He will just go and lock the door,
While your prayers will be ignored.
You might be tempted by a lust,
Start worshipping another god;
With putting all your hope and trust,
In an idol that is a fraud.
You will not live for very long,
Expect to wind up with a loss;
And your agony will prolong.
Since you do not cling to the cross.
