The Years of My Autumn ღKKDღ
The Years of My Autumn
Oh I knew
there would come the time
Ole Mother Nature would catch me
and rudely jerk me from my prime
Oh I ran so fast the keep in front
But her vicious head did rear
Ya know its really not as bad
as I had so long feared
The eyes have lines
that weren't there before
But the sparkle is still within
as my heart does still soar
I no longer can turn a head
or have those flirtatious looks.
But with age comes wisdom
learning its more than just covers of books
The figure is one
I don't care to show
Its not the same of what seems
really not all that long ago
I think my biggest regret
is the youth I wasted
The love I gave
that I never tasted.
Without fear I serenely approach
the last chapter of my life's book
But the pages to quickly turn
just as my youth she silently took
My dreams are still young
and my heart is my next poem
I try so hard to embrace
The years of my Autumn
