The Loneliest Little Maelstrom

Great Wave's Swallow

your ship has come in
and everyone is waiting for your story
but there's no story to tell
just a bag of withered bones and blood
and the lone sun smiles

you got your hands on me
and in the sunset we kiss
haven't seen you in so long
barely even knew you then
but i embrace you here and now
i'll never let you go again

but tomorrow's another ship
headed for new courses for you
these courses i still don't care to see
one leaden passage to the ocean
another into the eye of clarity

this time i know
i'll never see your face again
