 THE IMMIGRANTS
From their Homeland they fled.
Times darker than left for dead.
Weather failed to produce little.
Wandering from village to village.
Migrating down from German towns,
Begrudging the sights and sounds.
Fleeing from their sorrows and woes,
And finally alas, they set sail to go.
Life in the new land was hard,
but their hopes were on guard.
The days passed faster than seemed,
steadfast, they found their dream.
