For people
Who claim
To be better
Than the Christians
They hold
Grudges and
Judge
A little too
Easily
For my comfort.
For people
Who claim
To be more connected
To the earth
And worship it
They leave an
Awful lot
Of trash behind
In their
Campsites.
For those
Who claim
That words
Are magick
And power
They are quick
To gossip
And speak ill
And wonder why
They are sick.
I know even I
Am guilty
Of such things
When I forget.
Which is why,
For me,
Forgiveness
Is so vital
To my claims
Of Love,
To anyone's
Claim.
Love without
Forgiveness
Isn't love.
It is a misconception
That it is for you.
It is for the one
Who has
To forgive,
So that they
Can stop
Poisoning
Themselves.
So WE
Can stop
Poisoning
Ourselves.
I want to
Believe that I
Have this thing
Called a community,
But they have
Not yet arrived.
My community
Forgives themselves
And one another.
They are comfortable
With disagreeing
With each other
Because they
Love and respect
Each other…
They can blow up
With one another
Expressing themselves
Because they
Know that tomorrow
They can still
Go out and
Drink mead
By the fire
And hug
One another
In gratitude
For such friendship.
Today I only
Have a few
Individuals I can
Do and be
This with…
Someday
I hope and pray
To the Divine
Still sleeping
Within the fertile
Ground filled
With !@#$%
That the Love
I know in my
Heart of hearts
Will someday
Burst forth
From theirs
And I can call
Them my
Community…
But that day
Is not yet
Today…
Because there
Are still
Too many
Who cannot
Forgive me
Either real
Or imagined
Transgressions.
But I am grateful
To have
My sisters
As a place
To start,
A beginning
Of sacred trust,
It is because
Of them,
I have hope
For the rest.
