THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER - OLD MAN RIVER


  

  


This is for all the Dear Hearts and Gentle People along
 The Mississippi River

≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈≈

The Mississippi River is the largest river in America
During the year it expresses many different emotions

In the spring when the snow and ice melts up north
it flows its way south to the Gulf of Mexico

Most of the time it flows smoothly but sometimes
it gathers so much water it overflows its bank

This can cause heartaches and hardships for the people
The River is now running wild reclaiming land taken by civilization

I grew up by the mighty Mississippi River
I love to stand on its bank and witness the majestic aura of the river

sometimes it is peaceful and calm
sometimes it is like a mighty rushing wind wild and free

I know these emotions
for I myself have them

Please take a minute and remember those in the flood zones
We who live by the Mighty River do not know what tomorrow brings

But - I KNOW THE ONE WHO BRINGS TOMORROW
AND IT IS WELL WITH MY SOUL
