Poetic Verses
Thanks Dad
Who is this person, you want so much to emulate
In that little mind, those actions to quickly imitate.
This person so ready to adore, as that hero
In whose presence,those spirits get lifted and the eyes glow.
To you that person like a fortress, so strong
Can say and do nothing to you, that seems wrong
And in those moments, feeling so lost and uncertain
Would be that haven, that secure place for protection.
Taking you for trips, now and then in the wild
Doing things together, moment that will make you smile
And on those dark and dreary night, times of fright
Presence can be one of comfort, and a pacifying sight.
It was joy being together being taught lots of boyish things
Being there with you, there was a whole lot of joy it brings
But there were time when you focus, and mood was not the same
Those were the times when we played a little game.
Later I then saw, that invaluable lesson it taught
Now it time I see now to its true meaning, I caught
That you were just teaching one of life's basic lessons
Which proved later in life. to be a most valuable within good reason.
But as always time slipped by so easily, and Oh so quickly
I grew and in that process, you began to move a little slowly
But I hope that someday I with my son can have those moments that we had
Those ones that warmed my heart, I do thank in deed my dad.
