Mellow Sound

I knew and cherished the silence
And how it became mellow sound
When the dawn broke in my soul.
There were many dreams exchanged
When the songs of our hearts faded.

The old lady looked into the sun
Across the fields-and she smiled,
Remembering days scented with love
And life seemed to be forever.
Now she feels the passing of time,
All those she knew have gone away;
She would have held them for eternity-
But the eyes she loved so much
Dimmed and disappeared into memories.
