Memorial poem: from his kids. Notes his relationship with them and his grandkids.
He will be missed by all. His fav songs were The Wind Beneath My Wings and Amazing Grace.
An accident from his son-in-law working with him at his shop left him with metal in his arm. John still loved him anyway!

Late in the Spring of Two Thousand Eleven
Pops drifted off to his new heaven
For sixty eight years he worked and played with us
Though some may say he was an ornery old cuss
But his heart of gold shone through his tough hide
And his legacy we'll carry on with pride.
A man's man for hunting and fishing
Those moments with Pops we'll really be missing.
Grandkids were his blessing three fold
Amanda, Ashlee and Bradlee his twenty four karat gold
Awarded with arm metals of fate
As a father-in-law he was still great!
Now with the ‘Wind Beneath His Wings'
T'is ‘Amazing Grace' to which he clings.
With a love that never stops,
We will always love you Pops!
