Steal away

Steal away
Go quietly into the dark night
Hide, lost in the darkness of
The night our love is transient as we
Steal away knowing,
Our love can be torn from our hearts

Then one dark and stormy day we heard
those fateful words, steal away in the night.
Our love was not one we dared share, hiding
always in shadows thinking no one cared.
Then softly as a moonbeam caressing our hearts
we were told, go quietly into the night, steal away.

Now we stand together in the sunlight as love
caress our hearts,,the long shadows
we cast are to be found in the daylight.
No longer do we hid in the night,
together now, no one can tear us apart. Our love
Is a strength that only lovers share,we no longer
steal away, into the darkness of the night.
