Why Crime
Today, people tend to blame all on the recession
Even though there may be a temptation, did it precipitate this condition?
That one should believe and actually resolve in their mind
That to cushion this financial problem is to resort to crime.
But what is coming over to all and so very strong
That most of the crimes are being done by the young
Could it be a reflection on those who comprise the society?
Or an experiment that has most certainly turned ugly.
Some parents tend make sure they go out of their way
To make sure they children get the most of what's the going of the day
So thus creating in then a mentality, that they adopted easily
There they may come to expect the same, in times of austerity
Now being accustomed to a certain standard of living
Would expect nothing differently, now that times are changing
So will then resort to whatever means that would certainly
Support them in this life so that they should be happy.
Have we as people, parent and by extension the society, created a situation
Cultivating, nurturing, fertilizing allowing bad habits to grow and blossom
Now as we watch what we have planted, to bear such fruit
Don't sit and be sorry, no time to let that head hang in droop.
But the news reported today will really cause s fuss
People getting things snatched whilst they are leaving an omnibus
And this is something too that makes on tremble at the feet
There are attempts and attacks on people in the street
This too is something that can never be condone
People are being attacked nearby and even in the home
It cannot be blamed on drug addiction for that upsurge in robbery
They are happening almost everywhere and the level of severity
Some are even getting bold, even doing it in the open
This is also adding to this very pressing problem
But don't try to be brave because the experience is very unnerving one
To be placed at a distance less than a foot, from the barrel of a gun.
