Healing LoveAs I sit in my quiet room. I think of the abuse I received a youth. I always thought it was my fault. I begin to shake and sob out loud. Then the memories of Your love wraps its fingers around my heart. It slowly drawing me back together encasing me in understanding. You handle me with care, less my fragile pieces crumble. You bring me into today. You cover my pain with tenderness. My wounds disappear. Your smile like a thousand suns lights up the room and I'm not afraid. With Your arm around me, we can walk into forever. All my sadness will flow into the stream of forgetfulness. Then be carried beyond forever and a day. I fear You will leave. But how can You go if You are omnipotent? Warmth spreads through my soul as I realize, I will never be alone again. Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem
